NEW CAMPUS DEMANDS COMPLEX LIGHTING ACROSS CLASSROOMS, STUDY AREAS AND ARTS FACILITIES
St Mary’s Cathedral College turned a city office building into a learning centre. The multi- storey campus would include classrooms, a learning hub and performing arts facilities. The campus was built and designed by Fulton Trotter Architects, Civic Australia, Renascent and Cowayn Building. This complex project needed smart education lighting across multiple floors. And the luminaires had to illuminate different
learning spaces and meet strict specifications. Kerfoot, the electrical contractors, briefed us on the project. WORKING THROUGH SPECIFICATIONS, SIMULATIONS AND SCHEDULES TO DELIVER SOLUTIONS
After receiving the plans, our team created detailed recommendations and supplied data sheets. We made sure every specification matched the vision. Our experience in complex education projects made us the top choice for this project. We’ve worked on grammar schools right through to university campuses. Next, we provided lighting simulations for the multi-storey school building. These showed our products’ light levels and colour temperatures. We listened to feedback and refined the designs to meet high standards. Over the ongoing process, we worked closely with Kerfoot to deliver on schedule. This meant smooth coordination across multiple delivery stages at different dates.
We were able to work at the contractor’s pace, ensuring quality and support.

The William Street campus is now operational with smart lighting design. Lighting is important for concentration and can help in reducing eye strain. Linear lighting spans wide rooms and long hallways. Downlights are embedded in ceilings throughout classrooms and learning spaces. Recessed panels offer broad- range lighting. And suspended luminaires create features within entry and transitional spaces.
We made sure every room received the right light levels for its purpose. All floors are now lit with even lighting to accommodate students and staff.
