GETTING THE RIGHT FIXTURE FOR KITCHENS, LIVING AREAS AND BALCONIES

Residential projects like Balmoral Quay require lighting that matches the room function. The apartments along Corio Bay needed different solutions for different spaces. Kitchens required bright, directional task lighting. Benchtop work areas needed proper illumination for food preparation. Living spaces called for ambient lighting that wouldn’t create glare or hotspots. The coastal location added serious complications. Balconies

face salt spray and weather exposure from Corio Bay. Standard luminaires corrode fast in marine environments. Electrical contractors needed fixtures rated for these conditions. Energy efficiency mattered for running costs and environmental compliance. We combined practical requirements with the aesthetics needed to fit out the apartments.

SPECIFYING THE RIGHT LED LUMINAIRE FOR EACH APPLICATION

Finished in a corrosion-resistant powder-coated surface treatment, they’ll survive the salty air. All LED options reduce energy consumption significantly compared to older halogen systems. We shared data sheets with custom options, lumen output, colour temperature, IP ratings and dimensions. On approval, we manufactured the products and delivered them across five shipments.

The apartments installed mini- trim recessed lighting across bedrooms, bathrooms and living rooms. Surface-mounted cylindrical lighting was installed above the kitchen island. And striplighting lines the backsplash. The walls between joining walls on patios and balconies had weatherproof wall-mounted luminaires. The up-and-down fittings handle the coastal exposure well, made from extruded aluminium.
