CHILDCARE

LIGHTING SOLUTIONS FOR BUNDABERG’S NEWEST EARLY LEARNING CENTRE

Green Leaves Early Learning Centre was built in Bundaberg, Queensland in 2025. The brand new facility needed all its lights installed before opening in December. It looks after children from six weeks to six years old. And the electrical contractors needed almost 100 luminaires for the centre.

There were two primary types of lighting. The main childcare rooms needed bright, even panel lighting with low glare and a wide spread. Meanwhile, the reception, offices and kitchen needed downlights for appropriate task lighting. And there were additional five weatherproof battens placed externally.

SUPPLYING PANELS, DOWNLIGHTS AND BATTENS FOR DIFFERENT AREAS

Our team provided data sheets so the electrical contractors could review product specifications. And on approval, our efficient warehouse team sent the full order in the following weeks. We supplied different products for different spaces. For outside areas, we supplied VXW LED battens. These luminaires are tough and weatherproof with an IP65 rating. Moreover, they handle Queensland’s weather without any problems. Inside the centre, the contractors installed flat panels in the main childcare rooms. These panels spread light evenly across the

whole room with very little glare. Kids can play and learn comfortably under them. Additionally, the panels light up every corner, so there are no dark spots. For task areas like the reception and kitchen, Industralight recessed downlights were installed. These downlights stop dark corners and help staff see what they’re doing. Furthermore, they point light down onto work surfaces. This type of task lighting is ideal for preparing food in the kitchen. And working in the office at computer screens or writing down notes.
