PROBLEM

Lighting up Melbourne’s newest tennis hub

Glen Waverley Sports Hub needed good lighting for 18 tennis courts. Two of these are main show courts, but this wasn’t just about putting up bright lights. They needed smart outdoor sports lighting for a world-class facility. The project had many challenges. These needed our skills and careful planning. Weather protection was a concern as the lights had to handle Melbourne’s conditions. This includes hot summers and heavy winter rain. The site sits near homes, so we had to control light spill and glare, and keep the community happy.

Players needed steady lighting without shadows so it wouldn’t hurt their game. This applies whether they play for fun or compete at regional level. People walking around the big sports hub needed safe pathway lighting. This is important for evening visits. Our team saw this as a chance to show our top work. We wanted smart lighting that balances performance with being kind to the environment. The tight deadline meant fast delivery. But we didn’t cut corners on our high standards.
