The brief for Noumed Pharmaceutical’s Adelaide facility was complex. This $100 million development needed lighting systems supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing across several levels. The project required interior, exterior and emergency lighting throughout a 44,000m² site. This project needed lighting across a wide range of rooms. Each requires different task lighting depending on the activity within. And each area demanded compliance with AS/NZS lighting standards for industrial tasks.
Pharmaceutical areas typically require 500-1000 lux, whilst warehouses range depending on activity. FDC Building outlines the layout: • The ground floor’s 17,800m² housed pharmaceutical amenities, including storage and boiler rooms • Level one featured 1,500m² of laboratories and offices that require precise task lighting • Level two holds service platforms • The 7,000m² warehouse needs robust industrial lighting Infront Electrical Contractors needed an experienced team to deliver successfully on this project.
CUSTOM LUMINAIRES DELIVER ACROSS DIVERSE SPACES
Our approach began with comprehensive lighting simulations across all zones. Working with Infront Electrical Contractors, we mapped requirements for all levels. After feedback and following approval, our team manufactured luminaires aligned with construction timeframes. Internal lighting for workspaces included panels, downlights, and highbays installed in warehouse areas. The building’s exterior uses battens and bunkers around the perimeter. And the car park used our LED streetlights attached
to poles embedded into cages. The contractors also installed emergency and exit fixtures throughout, meeting safety regulations. Several products required customisation for dimming, size, colour, materials or drivers. Our skilled professionals coordinated shipments as needed, demonstrating our experience with complex builds.
